A Message from Principal Dumar

Bradfield Families,

I hope you are enjoying your extra long weekend with your families. It looks like it will be perfect football/fall weather. Speaking of football, it’s the Red River Showdown weekend where long standing rivals University of Texas and Oklahoma University went head to head at the Cotton Bowl Stadium. The Sooners are beginning to narrow the lead as they hit their 51st win with a record of 51-63-5 in the Red River Showdown. Whether you were decked out in Burnt Orange or Crimson and Cream, passion ran high!  You just never know what to expect from these two teams when they hit the field. Congratulations, Oklahoma fans!

I know some of you were able to take advantage of scheduling teacher/parent conferences on Tuesday. One of our campus goals is to ensure we keep parents informed not only about the events happening at school but your child’s academic progress as well. If you were unable to make it to your teacher/parent conference please be on the lookout for more information from your classroom teacher to set up a time to meet.

Thank you to our First Grade mothers, Natalie Alexis, Anabel Atkinson, MacKenzie Carpenter, Rory Harbison and Medley Turner for a scrumptious luncheon last week. The staff was treated to an all time favorite, Hamburger Man and delicious sweet treats from JD’s Chippery. Thank you, ladies, for making our week extra special!

I am excited we are able to continue our beloved Kindergarten tradition in the upcoming Halloween Parade, October 27. For more years than one can remember, our Kindergartners have dressed up in their Halloween costumes and parade through the building. First through Fourth Graders play an important role as they will proudly line the hallways with their teachers and cheer for the Kindergartners during the procession. We ask that our 1st-4th graders honor our Kindergartners’ right of passage and refrain from wearing costumes to school on October 27 and/or October 31. Parents are welcome to attend the Halloween parade which will begin at 8:15 AM. We ask that parents form their parade line on the Sport Court to see their precious little goblins strut their stuff!

Last week’s HINK PINK riddle: What is a purple gorilla?

Answer: GRAPE APE!

I encourage you to check out this week’s Broncoland photos.

A Message from our PTA President, Laura McCallan

Another busy week has come and gone here at Bradfield. Our Carnival Chairs are hard at work preparing for a SUPER fun event on October 27th. You won’t want to miss it! Check the eBulletin and your email for more information about how you can purchase wristbands and get involved!

Speaking of spooky season, please join me in thanking Kate Ryan & Lora Grabowsky, who organized a very successful Halloween Costume Drive this week benefiting foster children at Jonathan’s Place. And thank you to everybody who donated costumes!

Please also join me in thanking these other members of our PTA who are working hard week after week behind the scenes:

Courtney McCauley, who is responsible for all the Bradfield content we see in the HPISD newsletter every week. Thank you for keeping us so well represented!

Dianna Swope, Carol Gurganus, & Nicole Somerville, who handle Joys & Concerns on the PTA. Joys & Concerns supports Bradfield families and staff during good times and bad. Please reach out to these ladies if you ever know of a way we can support our Bradfield community.  All communication is confidential.

Go Broncos!
