...Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.” After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route. from Matthew 2:1-12
Join us for worship in this new year as we revisit the journey of the Magi and their decision to return home by another way. As is tradition, our fifth year, all gathered will be invited to draw a single "star" word during worship with a prayer that this word might shape the journey in some new meaningful way and help provide intentionality through the year.

A Fond Farewell
Last Sunday, we celebrated our colleagues and friends during their farewell reception. There was cake, lots of hugs, many notes of appreciation, and wonderful conversation expressing our heartfelt gratitude for their dedicated work.
While we bid them farewell, we carry forward the inspiration they have provided knowing their impact will resonate within Broadway for years to come. We wish Kate, Nollie, and Taby the very best in all their future endeavors.

Thank You Broadway Ringers
With heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated group of volunteers who tirelessly rang the Salvation Army fundraising bells during the holiday season. Those efforts and cheerful spirit helped bring hope and assistance to those in need. Broadway's ringing efforts raised $5,774.76 which is about $80.20 per hour for our work. We were the 2nd place fundraiser for all of Columbia. We have a new goal for next year, number 1!
