This summer, we’re hearing from our elders and various staff about how God has worked in their lives in similar ways to how He worked in the lives of people throughout biblical history. This week, we'll hear how the faith story of Alba Kellejian, our Director of Family & Children’s Ministries, intersects with that of a frequently overlooked character from the book of Genesis who learned firsthand that God often reveals Himself to us in the most unexpected ways and is aware of every minute detail of our lives.

Join us for lunch after church this Sun., June 9, in the Bridges Family Center, as our Missions Committee hosts a time of fellowship and sharing with one of our BCC-supported mission partners, Dave Deal. Dave serves with Athletes in Action and will be sharing details at the luncheon about an exciting outreach project he will be part of at the Summer Olympics. It's that time of year again when our Bridges elders seek to discern God's will for new church leaders. Currently we have 7 men who will be continuing in their role as elders for the upcoming year. Our constitution allows for up to 12, so we're asking for nominations from our Bridges family. If you have someone in mind who you'd like to see considered, please email Austin Ward (austin@wardsrus.net) or Al Kruger (al@bridges.church).

Our next Reasons to Believe chapter event will be online via Zoom at 7:00pm on Fri., June 14. RTB Fellow Dr. Joseph Miller will make the case that the current fad that each of us is entitled to “My Truth” is flawed and inconsistent with the Christian Worldview. Click here to access the Zoom link.

A memorial service for John Burnett will be held on Sat., June 15, at 11:00am in the Bridges Family Center, with a reception to follow. Please continue to remember the Burnett family in your prayers.

Ages 6–11 are invited to our annual Sports & More Camp, June 24-28, 2:00-5:15pm daily on the Bridges campus! We will host separate tracks in basketball, table tennis, science, and “Makers” — a combo of art and woodworking.

All men are invited to our annual ManDay on Sat., Aug. 17! We'll start at Bridges at 8:30am for breakfast and guest speaker Bobby Evans, former Vice President of Player Operations and General Manager of the Giants. Afterward, join a one-time activity such as golf, target shooting, hiking, bowling, or tennis/pickleball. Look out for more info coming soon!

Los Altos Christian Schools are now enrolling for the 2024-25 school year! For information about LACS and how to apply, click the button below. For details about the Learning Support Program LACS offers for grades 1-8, click HERE.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

We're excited to partner with CityTeam for our 4th year of honoring men who are

changing their lives through CityTeam's programs. We will be putting together 70 gift bags, so please consider donating any of the needed items and bringing them to church by June 7. Sports & More Camp for ages 6-11 is right around the corner, June 24-28, and we need some great volunteers to serve as assistant coaches! No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to serve the Lord and the children He brings to our campus. For more info, contact Kathy Spillar in the Bridges office: kathy@bridges.church.

Bridges’ Deaconess and Deacon Boards are recruiting volunteers to join in the important mission of hearing the word and doing what it says (James 1:22) along with the combined need for faith and action (James 2:16). Our Deaconesses continually support the Bridges family in ways both seen and behind the scenes, and we hope to grow the Deacon Board to similarly serve and also partner with the Deaconesses on joint projects. Have you been looking for ways to serve with other dedicated people? Whether you’d like to send an encouraging note, visit someone in the hospital, give a ride, or something else that excites you, only sign up when you are available and in areas where you want to contribute. Join us this summer for a short-term mission trip to São Paulo, Brazil, July 18-28! We will be working closely with our long-time mission partners Paulo & Ireni Mota and the organization and staff they oversee (Restoration Ministries) to lead fun Bible programs and activities for children and youth, and to participate in home visitations and prayer outreaches to families in the surrounding favela neighborhoods. The trip will cost approximately $2,000-$2,500 per person. For more information, please email Pastor Steve: steve@bridges.church.
