We might believe that God only works with perfect people living perfect lives–or at least pretty good people, living pretty good lives. But the God of the Bible shows us time and time again He is willing to begin a journey with us starting wherever we are. This week, we encounter the woman who becomes Queen and see that she, like us, doesn’t begin her journey with God fully formed.

The science of nucleosynthesis, the processes that build up the periodic table from light nuclei to heavier ones, was established about 70 years ago. Dr. Cynthia Cheung, former NASA astrophysicist, will describe these processes, especially the intricate physics that created the elements that comprise the building blocks of life. All singles and single again over age 35 are invited to our monthly fellowship. Through workshops, presentations, and discussions, we hope to share healthy relationship principles as singles and single households, and build a safe place for support and growth.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Join MUCH Hope as they serve local homeless at Sunnyvale Homefirst shelter by providing monthly dinners. Guest numbers at the shelter have increased greatly to 150 people, so lots of help is needed whether it's for 30 minutes or 2 hours! Volunteer to drop off supplies at Bridges, or help cook in the Bridges kitchen on a designated Sunday. For questions, contact sujana.panthulu@gmail.com.

Bridges’ Deaconess and Deacon Boards are recruiting volunteers to join in the important mission of hearing the word and doing what it says (James 1:22) along with the combined need for faith and action (James 2:16). Our Deaconesses continually support the Bridges family in ways both seen and behind the scenes, and we hope to grow the Deacon Board to similarly serve and also partner with the Deaconesses on joint projects. Have you been looking for ways to serve with other dedicated people? Whether you’d like to send an encouraging note, visit someone in the hospital, give a ride, or something else that excites you, only sign up when you are available and in areas where you want to contribute. Join us this summer for a short-term mission trip to São Paulo, Brazil, July 18-28! We will be working closely with our long-time mission partners Paulo & Ireni Mota and the organization and staff they oversee (Restoration Ministries) to lead fun Bible programs and activities for children and youth, and to participate in home visitations and prayer outreaches to families in the surrounding favela neighborhoods.
