The Deck Is Stacked

No doubt that we will all experience problems in our lives. Some of those will feel rather small and others will feel so large that we worry the world might end. However, no matter how small or large a problem may seem, God already anticipated it and has a solution in the works. This week, we’ll find that even the biggest problems are no problem for God. Victory is certain before the battle ever begins.

NEWS AND EVENTS

Thank you to everyone who supported last weekend’s Silicon Valley Mobile Pack by volunteering, donating, and praying. Feed My Starving Children reports that we packed “a total of 217,728 meals feeding 596 kiddos a meal a day for an entire year!” We are so grateful for your willingness to make a difference in so many lives in the name of Christ.

All singles and single again over age 35 are invited to our monthly fellowship. Through workshops, presentations, and discussions, we hope to share healthy relationship principles as singles and single households, and build a safe place for support and growth.

As we transition into the last two months of school, we are announcing two important changes in LACS leadership.

David Huang has given his resignation and will be leaving LACS effective June 14, 2024. This is disappointing, but we are appreciative of the efforts he initiated during his time and look forward to continuing these moving forward.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Partner with MUCH Hope this Mother’s Day and bless local moms living in challenging situations. MUCH Hope has planned a celebration at a homeless shelter on May 12, where we will make and serve dinner, host kids’ crafts and games, and give flowers to each of the moms. We will also be assembling gift bags for farm worker moms at Bridges on Fri., May 10, at 4:00pm. To volunteer to help with the shelter celebration or to donate items for the gift bags, click below.

Bridges’ Deaconess and Deacon Boards are recruiting volunteers to join in the important mission of hearing the word and doing what it says (James 1:22) along with the combined need for faith and action (James 2:16). Our Deaconesses continually support the Bridges family in ways both seen and behind the scenes, and we hope to grow the Deacon Board to similarly serve and also partner with the Deaconesses on joint projects. Have you been looking for ways to serve with other dedicated people? Whether you’d like to send an encouraging note, visit someone in the hospital, give a ride, or something else that excites you, only sign up when you are available and in areas where you want to contribute. Join us this summer for a short-term mission trip to São Paulo, Brazil, July 18-28! We will be working closely with our long-time mission partners Paulo & Ireni Mota and the organization and staff they oversee (Restoration Ministries) to lead fun Bible programs and activities for children and youth, and to participate in home visitations and prayer outreaches to families in the surrounding favela neighborhoods.
