Alumni Award Winners from Homecoming 2022
Each year during Homecoming, Breck bestows our Outstanding Alumni Awards on deserving graduates. Alumni of the Year is given to the person, or people, who have provided incredible service to Breck in that given year. The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented annually to an alumnus or alumna for career accomplishments and community leadership. Additionally, each fall, new members are inducted into the Breck Athletic Hall of Fame. Finally, our new Excellence in the Arts awards will be awarded for the first time in 2023. These awards will look at both emerging artists and those who have dedicated their career to a field within the arts. View the gallery of photos from the 2022 award ceremony here.

Please join us in congratulating our inductees for 2022:
  • Megan (Cross) Rogers '01—Alumni of the Year
  • David Williams '83—Athletic Hall of Fame
  • Lexa (Saboe) Hoffner '89—Athletic Hall of Fame
  • Meredith (Benson) Doran '02—Athletic Hall of Fame

"Now and Then" Picture Project
Friends Madison (Rudnick) Byczek '15, Cecily Hibbs '15, Emma Luten '15, Nicole Miller '15, and Katie Schmidt '15 have stayed close years after graduation.
It’s time to break out your old photo books! We are asking Breck friends to find old pictures that they have taken together, and send a recent picture with the same people. This is for a new project we are putting together later in the year. You can submit your pictures to the form below, or email them to alumni@breckschool.org.

Pictures can be a pair of friends, a group of friends, parents with their kids, a pair of high school sweethearts who have stayed together, siblings, or even an individual who just wants to show off their Breck pride. Let’s see those throwbacks, Mustangs!
Roddy Stars at Target Center
Memphis Grizzlies forward David Roddy '19 returned to Minnesota in November to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves. David played 25 minutes, shot 5-8 for 13 points, and pulled down 5 rebounds in a highly entertaining rematch of last year's first round playoffs series between the two teams.

Roddy and the Grizzlies return to Target Center on Jan. 27, 2023, and we hope that many of you will be in attendance to cheer him on!
Judge Sixkiller Speaks in Chapel
In December, Grade 7 students had the opportunity to hear from Leah (Lussier) Sixkiller '03 regarding the current Indian Child Welfare Act case in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Sixkiller is a Breck alumna, board member, and parent. She is also a Harvard graduate, a Tribal Court Judge, and an enrolled citizen of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians.

Alumni Sporting Events: Next Week!
Happy holidays to our wonderful Alumni Community!

This season I want to share a note of tremendous gratitude for all of you. It has been another wonderful year of connecting with our alumni community. In November, I completed my third full year in this role, and I feel so lucky for all of the experiences that I’ve had at Breck. I always tell people this is a special place, and so much of that understanding for me comes from the story you all have told me in my office, at events, and over the phone.

My hope for all of you, as you read this newsletter, is that you see yourself, or your friends and classmates, represented here, or feel that there is a good way for you to connect with Breck in the near future. If that is not the case, please reach out with your ideas on how to change that!
Alumni Director Kyle Parsons presenting at the Outstanding Alumni Awards 2022
I’d also like to ask all of you to consider making a year-end gift to Breck and to help us close out our year strong. We rely on the generosity of our alumni in so many ways and you never fail to come through for our school. You can make a year-end gift below by clicking the button, and if you do, please consider doing so in honor of one of your former teachers or classmates. This is another way we can spread cheer and stay in community with one another this holiday season. I will be making my gift to the Breck Fund this year in honor of all of our alumni, and I invite you to join me in doing so.

Have a wonderful holiday season and we will see you all in 2023!
