BRENDA BEST'S MUSICAL PEDIGREE IS STUNNING. She is a Nashville award-winning singer/songwriter and entertainer. The American Society of Composers Authors & Publishers (ASCAP) awarded her with a 2011 and 2012 ASCAP+ Award. She’s a four-time Nashville Independent Music Award winner (NIMA 2012, 2013); In 2015, she was inducted into The Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame New Brunswick (NBCMHOF). She’s a member of The Country Music Association (CMA), The Gospel Music Association (GMA), Nashville Songwriter Association International (NSAI), and a voting member of The Recording Academy (The Grammys).

Looking back at the beginning of her professional career in music, it all started in 1999 in Nashville Tennessee. She competed in USA Networks “Nashville Star in 2004 and was one of the top 33 Finalists. Since then, she continues to write songs, perform live at Honky Tonks and Concert venues.  Most all her songs can be found on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, CD Baby, and YouTube. WRITTEN BY NASHVILLE SINGER SONG WRITER BRENDA BEST, her lyrics touch on prayer. She performed “Speak Your Name” LIVE on Facebook to uplift friends. This year, she reached out to music producer Shawn Pody (The Podyum Studio .com) who created the music for this lovely song. The music video was filmed in Nashville at three historical locations. Thanks to videographer Mr. Rayzor G., for lending his talent and vision. The lyrics for “Speak Your Name” were inspired by a Sunday morning Baptist Church service on television hosted by Dr. Charles Stanley at First Baptist Church in Atlanta GA. “He seems to get through my thick skull and his teachings and guidance make it easy for me to understand the gospel. His words of truth are like a Sunday morning serum” says Best.” Writing it helped me reach somewhere deeper in my soul, in touch with my own spirituality as if I had finally learned how to talk one-on-one with God! It’s a personal conversation with Jesus. Our world needs prayer and it is a blessing to share my song with everyone. I feel stronger in my faith because of this song. Thank God! “
