We would like to encoura ge you to  make travel arrangements  and complete registration for the 2017 Computation + Journalism Symposium, which will take place at Northwestern's Evanston, Illinois campus on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14, 2017. 

The symposium website has been updated with a Registration process, travel and lodging information near the Symposium, and the developing symposium schedule. We do expect hotels to fill on this busy fall weekend, so attendees are advised to book soon. As you book your travel, please note that we will host an informal welcome reception on Thursday, October 12 at 6pm, for those who can arrive in time to join us.

A call for papers will be posted very soon, with a submission date of Tuesday, August 1.

Needless to say, the events of the past few months should provide some new ideas and inspiration for this year's conference. If you know of a journalist or academic who has been doing great work at the intersection of technology and journalism -- someone who'd make a great panelist or whom we should ask to present a paper -- please submit nominations and suggestions.
