Hello,

This month, the BookBrowse Book Club is discussing Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld, an entertaining tale of modern love that may appeal even to those who aren't the typical rom-com-loving type. We're also talking about Long After We Are Gone by Terah Shelton Harris, a character-rich story of siblings, inheritance, race, and ancestral land.

You and your book club can enjoy the outdoors this spring along with our Nature and the Environment "beyond the book" articles — in a recent roundup, we bring you a handful of pieces about the natural world around us in connection with recommended titles. Maybe pair a title with a field trip?

Or, dive into tradition with Pulitzer Prize news and history as we look at the winners and trace the award's beginnings.

And our History, Current Affairs, and Religion discussion guides may be just what you need to find nonfiction that generates quality book group discussions.

With best wishes,

Romantic Comedy

"I think this would be an excellent choice for a young woman heading off to college or just graduating and beginning her career. There is a very important message about self-confidence." —acstrine

Long After We Are Gone

by Terah Shelton Harris

From the Jacket

An explosive and emotional story of four siblings―each fighting their own personal battle―who return home in the wake of their father's death in order to save their family's home from being sold out from under them, from the author of One Summer in Savannah.

From the Discussion

"I was intrigued in learning what each sibling was like in their past life...I could not put this book down. I would definitely recommend this for a book club to read." —sylviaann

"Harris brilliantly weaves in a lesson about The Torrens Act (aka The Real Property Act of 1900), its original purpose of 'helping to clear titles for black landowners' and its ultimate 'scheme by the rich to seize the land of the poor.'" —Muse48

"I found the concept of heir property intriguing and I kept reading to find out how things would be resolved. Not what I expected but that’s what I liked." —rebajane
