Boise School District’s High Schools Again Earn

‘Best High Schools’ Designation from U.S. News & World Report

Boise, ID – May 14, 2024 – Five secondary schools in Boise School District received the “Best High Schools” designation from U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best High Schools rankings. Boise, Borah, Capital, and Timberline High Schools earned high national and metro-area rankings, as did Boise Online School - Secondary.

The U.S. News & World Report 2024 edition of Best High Schools includes a numerical ranking of nearly all public high schools nationwide – almost 18,000 of them. According to U.S. News & World Report, the highest-ranked U.S. public schools in the 2024 Best High Schools rankings are “those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores on an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.”

Schools ranked in the top 40% nationally (#7,062 or better) achieved status as U.S. News “Best High Schools.”

159 Idaho public high schools were ranked by U.S. News & World Report, including Boise's four traditional public high schools - Boise, Borah, Capital and Timberline high schools, as well as Boise Online School - Secondary.

“It’s an honor for our schools to receive the revered ‘Best High Schools’ designation again this year. This achievement is a credit to our schools’ dedicated educators who create a positive learning environment, our hardworking students, and our community of parents and families who support the ambitions of these exceptional students,” said Superintendent Coby Dennis, Boise School District.
