West Junior High Green Team member, Rebekah Dahlin (9th grade) has won Honorable Mention in the 2024 Arbor Day Photo Contest sponsored by the Idaho Forest Products Commission. Her photo, featured, below, is titled 'Frosty Leaves'. Award recipients will be honored at the State Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, April 26, 2024 10 am, at the Idaho State Museum, 610 Julia Davis Dr, Boise. Green Teams are a group of students dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and protecting the environment.

High School Students Promote Reusable Bags Initiative | |
High School Student Elected to State Officer Position | |
Timberline High School junior Jalen Lu has been elected as the DECA State Vice President of Finance, which is a state officer position in the Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). There are only 40 students in the state serving as state officers, representing each of the seven CTS)s with over 12,000 student members statewide. "Jalen is playing an important role in sharing the message of career and technical education (CTE)," wrote Gina Lyman, DECA State Manager. "He is a leader to his peers and is developing life-long skills needed to be successful after graduation." This year Jalen will participate in a Joint Student Leadership Conference, where all state officers come together to develop leadership skills, plan for their year and develop workshops.

Our summer driver education program is designed to equip young drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the roads safely. With a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on driving practice, we aim to instill confidence and responsible driving habits in teenagers. Enrolling your teenager in our program not only enhances their driving skills but also reduces the risk of accidents and promotes overall road safety. Give your teenager the gift of a comprehensive driver education this summer!
Summer 2024 Driver Education Program
- 1st Session: May 29 - June 26
- 2nd Session: July 2, July 8 - August 2
- Location: Fairmont Junior High School, 2121 N. Cole Rd., Boise, ID 83704
- Open to students age 14 1/2 to 21. Driving permit must be purchased from DMV in order to register for Driver Education Program.
| | Boise School District will once again participate in the federally-funded Summer Food ServiceProgram. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to children ages 1 through 18 at a number of school and park sites without charge. Depending upon the site, meals will be available beginning May 24th through August 9th. Further information will be available in early May on our Food & Nutrition Services website. | |

Register Today! How Attached Connections Can Help With Suicide Prevention | |
We are thrilled to announce a special event aimed at empowering parents with the knowledge and tools to prevent suicide. This event is designed to provide valuable insights, resources, and strategies to help parents navigate the sensitive topic of suicide prevention. We understand the importance of equipping parents with the right information to support their children's mental health and well-being.
Boise School District is hosting with other local non-profits an event for parents about how creating deep connections is a key piece in suicide prevention. Please join us to listen to Dr. Kevin Skinner, a Marriage and Family Therapist, for an evening of education and therapeutic support to empower and give you hope as you support your child's well-being.
This event will be held at South Junior High, 3101 W. Cassia St., Boise, on Thursday, April 18th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Childcare will be provided.
