Bend Campus Road Closure, Transit Detour

The City of Bend has closed NW College Way at NW Saginaw until May 13. Car and bike traffic will be detoured and can access COCC’s Bend campus via the college’s NW Regency entrance. Pedestrians can still walk up NW College Way during the closure. This roadwork is part of the City of Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvement Project.

As a result, Cascades East Transit (CET) Route 3, serving Bend’s west side, will experience major detours in two parts. These detours will affect the areas around COCC’s Bend campus and Northwest Crossing, including restricting bus access to the Bend campus area at COCC for just over two weeks. For more information visit Cascades East Transit website.

Tuesday, May 14, 6:30 p.m.

Following World War II, the names of 16 veterans were removed from a public honor roll in Oregon. All were Japanese Americans who served our country while their families were incarcerated on American soil. In 2022, the Oregon Legislature passed a bill to dedicate the Oregon Nisei Veterans WWII Memorial Highway in Hood River. Join us as Linda Tamura addresses her path to learning this “community secret,” Oregon’s fractured history, heroes unheralded, and lessons for moving forward.
