"Painting Large and Horizontal"
Welcome back to another BobBlast!
This issue of the Weekly BobBlast is about painting on a large, flat canvas - or even large, flat paper - taped down on plastic picnic-type foldable tables, sitting atop a couple of cinder blocks. When you don't have the luxury of a large wall, you can create one, as pictured here! I paint flat. Now I have a large "wall" but only horizontal, which I prefer when painting loose, free and wet.
As you can see, I prepare large water buckets, acrylic paint in large jars and long-handled brushes. Plus I have a stray bottle of isopropyl alcohol for creating "ring" effects in the wet paint washes.
Now I am prepared to paint freestyle and uninterrupted. That's a big deal for me - no cell phones, computers, no techno-interruptions!
Painting large is a huge commitment, both emotionally and physically. Prepare yourself and respect your time, here in front of this large feat!
