"Practice Looser... Paint Looser!  Part Two"

Welcome Back to Another BobBlast!

Loosen Up! 

In this video I continue the demo of a series of Floral Still Lifes - they are warm-up sketches. I will often work on a series of six 10x10 inch paintings - my daily exercises to practice keeping loose. 

I am paying attention to my goof-proof color wheel - The Dominant Color RED was established in the previous BobBlast. In Part Two - I paint the Focal Point Color BLUE-GREEN all over the sketches. You can see that I paint quickly and on ALL of the six paintings at the same time. Moving quickly from painting to painting is another way to stay loose!

Adding the Spice Colors - PURPLE-BLUE and GREEN-YELLOW, I practice the same loose technique of painting on ALL six of the paint sketches. The Spice Colors surround the Focal Point Color to add excitement and make the Focal Point the STAR of your painting!
 
Practice these loose techniques in your daily warm-up exercises so they will become second nature when you proceed to your larger pieces. 

In the next BobBlast, Part Three - I work on the background and adjust the contrast of the dominant color. I will also re-emphasize the focal point color to finish my loose paint sketch.
