Wednesday, November 22, 2023 - Blessed Thanksgiving! | |
|
Dear Friends in Christ,
Prayers for you as you head into this long Thanksgiving weekend. Special prayers for the comfort of the Holy Spirit for those who are facing the holiday season with recent loss in all its possible forms.
As we prepare to give thanks for many things, I commend to you this article on the science of gratitude and its mental and physical effects (email me if you need access). Research shows probable benefits from not only experiencing gratitude, but also expressing gratitude, and even observing other people's gratitude. Even the smallest daily practices can make a difference.
A perfect way to launch this weekend of gratitude is to attend the Thanksgiving Eve service this evening (Wednesday) at 5:30pm! And then we have the Feast of Christ the King this Sunday.
With Abundant Blessings,
Seth+

New Memorial Garden at Christ Church!
For the last year a committee has been exploring the possibility of an outdoor memorial garden where members could choose to be laid to rest. After much research and discussion, and with help from an architect, a landscape architect, and a bronze sculptor, the final site and design has been chosen, and the project has been approved by the vestry. Dear Christ Church Community,
Many, many thanks to all those who have made a financial pledge to the parish for 2024. Your generosity will help pass the faith for generations to come, and assist the vestry and finance committee in setting the 2024 budget.
We are hoping to have all pledges in by Sunday, November 12. Pledging can be done by 1) mailing the pledge card you received, 2) snapping a photo of your pledge card and sending it to Heidi or 3) or filling out the online pledge card found here.
We are so grateful you would consider a pledge for 2024.
