2021 Goal: Blankets for 25,000
Children in Foster Care

Together we can do it, one blanket at a time!
Current number: 1,269

My Very Own Blanket is bringing blankets of love, comfort and hope to children in foster care. Here is how you can help us do just that!

Order no-sew fleece blanket kits online here. Pick up inside our workshop Monday - Friday, 9 am to Noon, or use our 24-hour curbside pick-up bin just outside the workshop.

Drop off your quilted, crocheted, knitted or fleece blankets in the donation bin outside our workshop. We gather them up daily.

Not in Central Ohio? Sponsor our "no-sew" blanket kits online. We will send them to you and help you connect with local children's services so you can deliver to kids in care in your area!
We receive many beautiful quilts every week (like the baby quilts above made by Blanket Angel Ruthie), suitable for boys and girls of all ages.
AMB members get together just before COVID restrictions. See COVID photos with the link at right.
Angels Making Blankets
The women of Angels Making Blankets (AMB) in Powell have made fleece blankets for us for four years.

They have steadily increased from 5 to 30 members and from 65 to 663 blankets made annually since 2017.

Envisage service project nets 830 blankets
Our partners at Envisage Wealth bought no-sew fleece blanket kits and offered them to their clients to make at home and return to Envisage. At the end of their service event, clients and employees had made 830 blankets!

Click here for a fun Facebook video they made showing the process.  Many thanks to our friends at Envisage!
Do you advocate for children in foster care?
If you are a caseworker or advocate for children in foster care, we would love to provide blankets that you can share with kids who could use something to hold onto. Just tell us how many you need. 614-530-3327 or
COVID Crochet
Gordon and Judy brought us 31 beautiful crocheted blankets Judy made while spending lots of time at home during the pandemic. She used up much of her yarn, so we gave her more to turn into more beautiful creations of blankets for children in foster care. We are so grateful for these faithful Blanket Angels!
Your work...on the way to Franklin County Children's Services!

We welcomed a case worker from Franklin County Children Services recently and sent her off with 50 blankets for the kids they serve. Our work ... is working!! Thanks to your donations, we sent:

15 blankets suitable for girls ages 18-19
15 blankets suitable for youth ages 5-18
20 blankets suitable for children ages 3-5
Foster Care Insight
Time Doesn't Heal Wounds; Action Does
Story by a former foster youth

When I was in foster care, each Christmas I’d receive presents from a local charity. They’d ask what I wanted the most. I always wrote “to go back home to my mom.” ⠀
That never happened. ⠀
25 years later, I still live with the grief of not being able to grow up with my biological family. As an advocate, I feel it is my duty to share with you the truth. My truth.  More

Linda (in photo) and her sister Laurie donated 107 blankets in late December. They started 2020 with a goal of 100 but expanded to 700. This donation met their ambitious goal! Many thanks!
