Celebrate Black Queer History
Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council honors all our Black community members and celebrates all Black leaders, including Black LGBTQ+IA folks, this month and every month.

Today we honor Bayard Rustin, a gay American civil rights leader who advised Martin Luther King, Jr. and was the chief architect of the March on Washington in 1963 where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech. In this quote Bayard Rustin speaks on peaceful, anti-discriminatory, and democratic means to building the society we want to see. Help us build a neighborhood council that truly represents all of Historic Highland Park's stakeholders! Join us for our next meeting! Click the links above to learn more.
