HAPPY February HPN! It’s no longer “Happy New Year” but now almost “Happy Valentines Day!” This month, we not only observe the "Month of Love", but also American Heart Month, Black History Month, Self-Check Month, and many more!

Hugh Jackman and Mental Health
In the last Call Sheet we asked for prayer for actor, Adam Rich, who was struggling with mental health issues. Following that, Hugh Jackman spoke out on the growing need to address depression and other mental health issues both on and off the set in Hollywood. Let’s be proactive in praying for artists and the struggles they have due to traumatic childhoods and extra-sensitive emotions, which makes them great at their art, but difficult with life, and other mental health struggles!

The nominees for the 95th annual Academy Awards, which will be broadcast on Sunday, March 12th at 5pm PT have been announced. Let’s pray for the people behind the scenes and in front of the camera for this year’s OSCARS. Your prayers for all of those involved make an eternal difference in their hearts, lives, attitudes, perspectives and their faith!

Zoe Saldaña Makes History
We want to praise God for famous latin-American actress Zoe Saldaña, who has made history as the first actor EVER, to be in 4 movies to gross over $2 Billion! Zoe, who has been a working actor for almost 25 years, says that she is grateful for the opportunities, but is looking forward to other artistically challenging roles. Let't be praying for her to continue to have success in her career, and that she acknowledges God's hand of favor on her life!

Alec Baldwin
We need to pray for actor/producer Alec Baldwin, who was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Halyna Hutchins, a crew member on his latest film set. Because Alec was the lead producer on the film, if the court finds him guilty of her death, he could face up to 18 months in prison. The entire situation is heartbreaking, for the family of Halyna, for the cast and crew of the film, and for Alec, whose life is now changed forever with this decision. May you please join us in praying for God’s will, for Alec and others to get comfort, wisdom and strength through our all powerful and mighty God, and for our community to come together as family to support those injured and killed on film sets, and those responsible for such tragic losses.

Writers Guild of America
Writers are the foundation of all films, TV, video games, songs and internet content. Would you pray for more solid, mature, talented Christians to join our community of influential WRITERS so that believers can have more impact in the stories coming out of Hollywood. The WGA (Writers Guild of America) is having their annual awards ceremony on Sunday, March 5th and we want to pray for the writers as they win or lose the award they are so hoping for. Remember the Lord is in control and we just need to invite Him in to do His miraculous work in the lives of industry professionals!

Sony Film Revenues Continue to Drop
We ask for you to pray for the decision-makers of Sony Films, which is facing some scrutiny after a third quarter of falling profits. Sony Group announced Thursday that CFO Hiroki Totoki, would succeed Kenichiro Yoshida, as group president, though Yoshida will remain as CEO and chairman. Sony, which acquired Christian streaming platform Pureflix in 2020, still hopes to earn high profits with this Christian streaming service and their upcoming releases of The Equalizer 3, Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse, and Ghostbusters sequel.

The Grammy Awards 2023
Please pray with us as the world watches music's biggest night, the Grammys which will air this Sunday night, February 5th! Last year, we saw a positive turn for the better in live awards show broadcasting, and we pray for continued improvement! We also ask you to pray with us for every one of the names on the nominations list- that they will come to know Jesus, and will experience God's unconditional love as they use the talents that He has given them!

We want to rally the HPN troops to join the national Collegiate Day of Prayer for College and University students by praying for all of the Film, Music, Theatre, Technology, Video Games, Arts, Dance, and Communications majors on THURSDAY, FEB. 23rd. Will you take time that day to pray specifically for the creative Arts students as prayer warriors across the country pray for college students in general? How exciting it will be to lift up the next general of Creative Professionals on 2/23

PRAYER AND EVANGELISM WITH YWAM LA
Join Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Los Angeles for times of prayer and evangelism in Hollywood. YWAM is a missionary organization with thousands of bases all over the world, and its motto is to “Know God and to make Him known”. Learn from long-term missionaries how to share your faith right in the streets of Hollywood. They meet at the Capital One Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 2:30pm - 5:00pm, to pray for Hollywood, its people, its industries, etc. and then be trained and equipped both through teaching at the cafe and doing evangelism in groups of two or three in the streets. HPN is proud to announce the national music ministry: Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composer's next conference. This is an event involving an organization that is part of ASCAP/BMI (etc), and there is a great lineup of ensembles. The purpose is to foster fellowship among students and among professionals who are Christians. If you want to find out more about it or send in a new original score to their competition.

Affordable housing for the arts and entertainment community.

The Entertainment Community Fund, in partnership with Thomas Safran & Associates, is excited to spread the word about new affordable housing for the arts and entertainment community at The Hollywood Arts Collective. This project will serve low-income households and has a preference for artists. Through the lottery, you can apply for apartments that are affordable for households at a range of income levels. On-site amenities include a rehearsal studio, community room, fitness room, laundry facilities and lush landscaping.
