Lane reduction at Black Forest / Research Intersection May 8 - 10

Northbound Black Forest Road will be reduced from one left turn lane and one through lane to one shared left/through lane at the intersection of Research Parkway Wednesday, May 8, through Friday, May 10, to accommodate work in the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes, if possible. 

Progress update!

Construction continues on schedule for completion later this year. Recent drone images show progress on curb and gutter for new northbound lanes, and nearly completed work in the Cottonwood Creek channel and its tributary adjacent to the new bridges crossing the creek.

The project is widening the roadway to two lanes in each direction between Woodmen Road and Research Parkway. Funded through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) “A” List of projects, work is scheduled to be complete in late 2024.
