Aug. 30 traffic shift marks project milestone

A traffic shift on Black Forest Road from Woodmen Road to north of Research Parkway occurs 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. This marks a significant milestone in the two-year construction project.

Beginning Friday, traffic will move to the newly paved roadway on the east side of Black Forest Road from Woodmen Road to Silver Ponds Heights. This segment includes a new bridge over Cottonwood Creek. There will be one lane of traffic in each direction on Black Forest Road. Two traffic lanes will open on northbound Black Forest Road from Woodmen Road to Vollmer Road. This includes one thru lane and a dedicated right turn lane onto Vollmer.

Recently installed traffic signals at Research Parkway are not active and the intersection will continue to be controlled by stop signs.

The traffic shift will allow traffic flow while crews continue work on the west side of Black Forest Road. This work occurs for the next several weeks.
