You look like Mary Poppins...
Here at Black Cat Comics in rockin' Milpitas we're catching our breath after all the excitement from last week, and we're putting the place back together as fast as we can because, in the Multiverse of Comics, the fun never stops! Last week we got blasted in the face by the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie along with three new Guardians titles including one by Jim Starlin! How cool was that? Then it was Free Comicbook Day on Saturday, and we handed out thousands of comics to hundreds and hundreds of people! That was awesome! But it's only the middle of May, folks, so there is still lots and lots of fun and excitement going on each and every week for the rest of the year, so don't blink or you might miss something super-cool! The San Jose Super Toy Show is coming back around in a couple of weeks, followed closely by the South City Comic-Con! Then comes a little something we like to call the Black Cat Comics Rockin' Milpitas Pre-Comic-Con Comic-Con! What's that, you ask? It's only our biggest, coolest, awesome-saucenest event of the whole year! You thought Free Comicbook Day was huge? Well, the BCCRMPCCC is a whole week of events including big sales, movie night, the Swap Meet, panel discussions, and much, much more! After that extraordinary extracurricular activity we are off to the granddaddy of them all: San Diego Comic-Con! See? We told you the fun never stops! Follow our fabulous Facebook page along with this newsletter, the weekly YouTube video, the podcast, and, of course, the good ol' website for all the details on all of these different events plus any and everything else you need to know about what's new in Comics! We don't want you to miss a single second of the fun! Black Cat Comics is your one-stop-shop for all things super-hero! And we are your #1 resource for news and infotainment covering all the events and conventions in the Bay Area and beyond!

Iron Man is a founding Avenger. Dr. Doom is a longtime Avengers foe. Dr. Doom is now iron Man. Can Victor Von Doom convince the team that he has reformed and to let him join? Or, from Doom's perspective, can this inferior team of inferior heroes rise to the level of greatness required to team up with the new Iron Man? Avengers #7 starts a new storyline and a new era for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Pick up the Black Cat Pack of Infamous Iron Man to find out how Von Doom became Iron Man, then read this latest Avengers issue to see Dr. Doom try to join a team of heroes. - Causey

The next big Star Wars event starts this week with Star Wars Screaming Citadel #1, a five part event that is kicked off with this one shot issue. Luke Skywalker teams up with Doctor Aphra to visit the infamous Screaming Citadel, will they be able to find what they are looking for before being captured by the Citadel's Queen? It will be fantastic seeing our favorite Rebel pilot interact with Aphra's killer droid companions. Once the mission is complete will Doctor Aphra double cross Luke or will she start working for the Rebel Alliance? Be sure to check out a copy this Wednesday. - Anthony

Gotta admit I thought Bug was the return of Ambush Bug. One of the funniest DC characters ever. Even though it's not the triumphant return of Ambush Bug, it looks to be a great book. Bug is just one of the hive before he breaks out. now he's on an adventure that has him hopping through different dimensions meeting new and strange characters. And since this is Jack Kirby's New Gods Universe these characters should be interesting. With art by Mike Allred and scripts by Lee Allred this Vertigo mini series will be a great read. Be sure to pick up a copy of Bug: The Adventures of Forager #1 this Wednesday. - Al

I can't adequately convey my total joy in seeing the CreepShow by Stephen King turned into a magazine edition comic illustrated by the brilliant horror artist Bernie Wrightson. If you fondly remember the movie by Romero you'll want to grab this classic horror treasure. It depicts all the creepy tales from the movie into a graphic format that only Wrightson can capture, harkening back to the old EC comics which we all know and love. We've only got a few of these in stock so hurry on in before they're all gone! Wait, I might have a few extra in that crate under the stairs....Enjoy! - Francie

Black Cat Comics Celebrates Wonder Woman Day, 6/2 - 6/3!

Here at Black Cat Comics we absolutely love the Amazonian Princess. She's tough and strong as any superhero, some would argue, tougher and stronger than most. She's fierce in her conviction and helped little girls aspire to be just as strong and formidable. We're celebrating her impact on comics and our culture with two separate events:

Friday, 6/2: Ladies Night starting at 6 p.m. at Black Cat Comics, we'll have some nibbles, chat about the Amazon and head off to the movie down the street at the Great Mall. RSVP online or via email so we can get enough tickets!

Saturday, 6/3:  All day long we'll celebrate Wonder Woman with free coloring pages of the Princess, door prizes and 25% off all her merchandise.
Free Comic Book Day was a huge success!

With our recent move we've lost all the awesome reviews we had on Yelp. Whenever a business relocates they remove the old reviews and treat it as a brand new business. Our reviews look pretty meager! We could use your help in spicing them up! Thanks in advance!
