As countries worldwide prepare to re-open their economies, international travel is poised to resume. However, in the absence of globally accepted vaccine regulations and passports, would-be travelers need to navigate a complex and rapidly changing patchwork of vaccine, testing and quarantine requirements, specific to each destination. At the same time, tourism industry players face the challenge of restarting in a vastly changed operational environment.
Join the AmChams of the Asia Pacific (AAP) for a regional conference on the immediate issues facing international travel. Our three distinguished speakers include:
-
Alfredo Montufar Helu, The Economist Intelligence Corporate Network, Beijing will present EIU's latest vaccination rollout forecasts, and talk about the economic, political and geopolitical implications from growing vaccine inequity across the world.
-
Vinoop Goel, International Air Transport Association (IATA). Covid-19 has had an unprecedented and devastating impact on aviation. IATA will provide an overview of the current state of the airline industry along with an short to longer term outlook. This session will also cover some of the steps taken to restart the industry and key priorities for governments and aviation stakeholders to ensure a recovery to pre-Covid-19 levels.
-
Adh T. Stevens, Second Secretary and Consul, U. S. Embassy Beijing - Up to date information on travel to the USA.
Breakout Discussions. After the plenary presentations, participants will be invited to join destination-specific breakout sessions, where there will be the opportunity for networking and interactive discussion about country-specific information. The 2nd Pacific Exposition 2021
For the past few years, the Pacific has been a very important and strategic region. It is one of the most important trade routes connecting Asia and America.
As a result, this region has become lucrative for major powers to expand their sphere of influence. Some Pacific initiatives have been launched, all aim to improve the development of the Pacific and the wellbeing of its people.
As the manifestation of the Pacific brotherhood, Indonesia, supported by Australia and New Zealand, organized the first Pacific Exposition in Auckland on 11-14 July 2019 with the theme “Creating a Pacific Momentum”. This event aimed to provide Pacific nations international market access to their commodities and products, as well as to promote their investment opportunities and tourism destinations. The first Pacific Exposition brought in more than 600 VVIPs, high dignitaries, prominent business figures, and artists from 20 countries and territories across the Pacific.
The three-day trade and investment exhibition recorded NZD 104 million business deals and commitments while drawing in more than 5,000 visitors. It also received wide media coverages from the Pacific countries. The exposition was hailed as the most comprehensive event in the Pacific.
