Schoolcraft College Trustee Candy Little Hosted Campaign Kick off at Wintergarden

Retail politics come to life with crowds gathering, sharing laughter, exchanging handshakes, and recounting tales of adventures. It's a display of support for a political candidate, embodying Tip O'Neill's famous saying, "All politics is local."

On Thursday night, an enthusiastic group of 90 to 100 people convened at the Wintergarden to express their support for Candy Little and her bid to return to office as a Trustee at Schoolcraft College.

The College Trustees were on hand, Brian Broderick, Dillon Breen, Brett Gierak, and Carol Strom.

Treasurer Susan Nash, Council President Brandon McCullough, Vice-President Martha Ptashnik, and Councilmembers Carrie Budzinski and Rob Donovic well represented the City of Livonia. County Commissioner Terry Marecki was there as well.

Northville Township Supervisor Mark Abbo, Clerk Cynthia L. Jankowski, and Northville City Mayor Brian Turnbull joined in with their support.

Circuit Court Candidate John Larkin was on hand as was District Court Candidate Robin Persiconi.

The typewriter and bodyguard enjoyed the evening, chatting up old friends and meeting new ones. Retail politics works for me and it certainly works for Candy Little.

In Plymouth, we’ve been able to secure funding for a new police car, ADA compliance at the Plymouth Cultural Center, and a new bandshell (coming next year). We’ve also been able to work together to address the needs of constituents and make sure everyone gets the assistance they need."

The typewriter is not available for phone calls or emails Saturday and Sunday. Mental health and rehabilitation time. Out and about enjoying life.

What motivates FridayMusings:

We can't only define Livonia as taking small steps toward maintaining the way things were. That will give us mediocre outcomes. Our goal needs to be innovative and transformative.
