CHS Rams to be Honored with Parade!

The Carmel community will come together to celebrate the NYSPHSAA Section 1, Class AA Champion Carmel High School Rams, on Saturday, December 11th, with a parade through the center of Carmel hamlet.

The Rams won the state football championship on Saturday, December 4th, at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. The team was undefeated all season and easily beat their rivals in the finals, Buffalo’s Bennett Tigers, to cap the Class AA Championship title. It is the first time the Carmel Rams, or any team from Putnam County, has won the state championship!

The Rams finished the season 13-0, and outscored their worthy opponents 512-81. The Senior Class finished their high school football career with a combined 33-1-1 record since Freshman year; truly a special group of young men!

The team also won the Number 1 ranking in the final New York MaxPreps Top 25, making it the best in New York State in all sections.

Special congratulations go to our own Jack Kane for being honored as NYS Public High School Athletic Association Section 1, Class AA "ALL LEAGUE"!

Members of our Council who make up the team’s Chain Gang will be proudly marching in Saturday’s parade.

The parade will start at 11 a.m. at Reed Memorial Library and continue to the Historic Putnam County Courthouse. After the parade, our Council’s hall and Lounge will be open to host the team and their families with some light refreshments.

Please come to the parade to congratulate the team on their amazing season and championship!

GO RAMS!!
Mingle & Jingle at the Council Christmas Party

Another great council tradition resumes with our Adult Christmas Party for members of our Council and Ladies Auxiliary this Saturday, December 11th at 6 p.m., jointly hosted with Mother Cabrini Assembly.

We'll have a complimentary, informal, but very tasty hot buffet dinner with a cash bar. And for a special treat, members of our Ladies Auxiliary will be putting out a great spread for the dessert table.

All we ask is that each person bring a gift for the less fortunate in our community, to brighten their Christmas season by helping them put good meals on the table for their families.

This year we are once again collecting donations for the St. James the Apostle Church Food Pantry. The pantry is typically stocked with canned goods and other non-perishables, but what they need is supermarket gift cards so families can buy perishable items like milk, meats, fresh vegetables and frozen foods, which the pantry cannot stock.

So, please bring $10, $20 or $25 ShopRite or Tops gift cards to our party, and we will present them to St. James on behalf of the Knights and our families. The suggested donation is $20 per person.

Since we started this tradition, we've collected over $10,000 in donations to those in need. So let's show our Christmas spirit and do it again for our parish and our community!
Reserve Now for Cash Bingo on Sunday

Our Ladies Auxiliary is hosting another great Sunday afternoon of cash bingo on December 12th. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the first game starts at 2 p.m.

Proceeds will be donated to United for the Troops! Their purpose is to make life while at war a little better for our brave men and women serving military by collecting food, money, and goods that the military does not provide them. Some of the items include cookies, DVDs, CDs, snacks, t-shirts, and other food items. Through speaking with the troops, the military provides them with the essentials for day-to-day life, and many of them miss the extra amenities that they receive while at home. Their goal is to show them that we are proud of them and appreciate all of their efforts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas of conflict around the world.

The cost for bingo is only $35 (save $5!) if you make your reservations and prepay by clicking here. Walk-ins pay $40 at the door.

Please email Ladieskofc@gmail.com with any questions.
