CHS Rams to be Honored with Parade!
The Carmel community will come together to celebrate the NYSPHSAA Section 1, Class AA Champion Carmel High School Rams, on Saturday, December 11th, with a parade through the center of Carmel hamlet.
The Rams won the state football championship on Saturday, December 4th, at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. The team was undefeated all season and easily beat their rivals in the finals, Buffalo’s Bennett Tigers, to cap the Class AA Championship title. It is the first time the Carmel Rams, or any team from Putnam County, has won the state championship!
The Rams finished the season 13-0, and outscored their worthy opponents 512-81. The Senior Class finished their high school football career with a combined 33-1-1 record since Freshman year; truly a special group of young men!
The team also won the Number 1 ranking in the final New York MaxPreps Top 25, making it the best in New York State in all sections.
Special congratulations go to our own Jack Kane for being honored as NYS Public High School Athletic Association Section 1, Class AA "ALL LEAGUE"!
Members of our Council who make up the team’s Chain Gang will be proudly marching in Saturday’s parade.
The parade will start at 11 a.m. at Reed Memorial Library and continue to the Historic Putnam County Courthouse. After the parade, our Council’s hall and Lounge will be open to host the team and their families with some light refreshments.
Please come to the parade to congratulate the team on their amazing season and championship!
GO RAMS!!
