HOPE and IMAGINE . . .

Imagine the lives you help change when you support hurting families counseled at Biblical Counseling Center.

You are probably swamped with email these days so thank you for taking time to read this note.
Your support of Biblical Counseling Center is particularly important this year. We have had an unusually high number of families in need of counseling who were unable to pay our regular fee.

These families were facing great financial stress and various difficulties like addiction, depression, and domestic abuse.

We have a policy of never turning away a person who legitimately cannot pay for counseling, thanks to the generous support of BCC donors. This year BCC provided $75,000 in counseling to financially stressed families.

We hope to continue our policy and also be good stewards of God's money. To do that, we need your help!

Please take a moment and listen to a dad's story whose daughter was raped.* (*Identifying details are not included. Below is a stock photo.)

A Dad's Story:
Healing After His Daughter's Rape

After my daughter was sexually assaulted, I felt devastated. As her father, I saw myself as her protector and provider, a role in which I felt I'd failed.

I believed in the sovereignty of God and even verbalized that to my family and a few friends after the attack, but the truth of that wasn't making a difference in the way I felt. After a couple of weeks of struggle, I was still unreasonably emotional, irritable, and "blue" almost at the flip of a switch. My church recommended Biblical Counseling Center, so I called and set up an appointment.

I had never counseled before, so was a bit apprehensive going in. The counselor started the session with prayer, which immediately put my soul at ease. Walking me through the Word, he was able to help me understand that feelings are a "result." Feelings are not the root of the problem, but merely the result. I was able to understand and embrace a fuller, richer definition of faith:

Faith is believing in God's Word, and acting upon it,

regardless of how I feel, knowing that God will use it for good.

I thank God for His Word, and for His wonderful servant counselors at Biblical Counseling Center. You helped me walk through a tremendously difficult situation, for which I am extremely grateful. I am sending my sincere thanks to my counselor in particular. Thanks for being an instrument in the hands of a gracious God. Through your skillful work, I have been freed from my prison of emotional confusion.

The Plan:
Raise Half of $75,000 by December 31

BCC wants to continue to help even more families in 2015. You recently received a letter and email, inviting you to make a year-end contribution.

If you've given your gift already, please allow this email to be an extra thank you for your generosity. If you have not had a chance to make a gift, we hope you will find a way to support BCC this year with your gift of any size.

Below is an orange "Give a Gift" button.
A click takes you to a BCC web page where you may give your gift,
easily and securely.

Since we believe God is calling us to counsel financially stressed families and end the year strong, our hope is to raise half of the $75,000, or $37,500 by the end of 2014.

Broken down, $37,500 means:

100 folks donating $375 each; or
10 folks donating $3,750 each; or
1,000 folks donating $37.50 each.

We simply can't do what we do without our donors' support, so thank you in advance for being as generous as you can. We look forward to sharing with you all the good that will come from your gift.
