Native plant of the week this week is Bee Balm! Bee balm is a North American native that attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It is a perennial that blooms for around 8 weeks in the summer and fall. Bee balm can be a great addition to flower beds and can also thrive in containers. It prefers moist soil and a sunny environment, but can also survive in partial shade. A fun fact is that the name "Bee Balm" comes from the historic use of applying the plant to bee stings!
