Missy's Message

There is nothing more beautiful than watching a new young mom flourish and blossom here at Bethesda House.

It reminds me of our hydrangeas at home. Through the winter months they are brown, with hard, wooden stems. But come July, with pruning, warm weather, sunshine and watering, they become magnificent bushes of blooming color.

When a mom moves into Bethesda House, she is scared, lonely, and unsure. She is then enveloped in our loving atmosphere, shown the love of God, provided a safe place to lay her head and told she's a child of the King. She then transitions into a confident, loved, and secure young woman who can now pass that on to her baby.

Thank you for your continued support in providing this safe home for all our moms and babies.

Thank you!!

Missy Porter, RN

"Witnessing these young women's commitment to God's grace and love, and to the deep caring and love they have for each other is amazing. Very talented group of young women. The gala was outstanding. God bless all of you."

A Happy Goodbye and Moving Testimony

It is finished.

"These three words were the final statement of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; after his immense and infallible sacrifice on the cross.

His mission was complete. Sin and death had been destroyed, and a new path which offered freedom from the bondage of the enemy, had been forged.

It was this act, which allowed us, his fellow human beings, to die to self and be reborn in Him. The poor received an inheritance greater than any human being could ever provide. The sick became healed, and the downtrodden became restored.

When I first got to Bethesda House, I was living in the aftermath of an intense spiritual battle that had left me shellshocked and withdrawn. The enemy had used every tactic he could think of to kill me, and yet he could not succeed. Though Christ held the victory, and the Holy Spirit resided within me, the vessel which I had surrendered to God's will, was a wasted battleground; left desolate and wrecked; after an unimaginable amount of Warfare had taken place.

"Who will I send?", my father had asked. "And who shall go for us?"

"Here am I, send me!"

I had replied.

The battle was over, and now healing could take place.

My spirit and body had been no stranger to the suffering, sacrifice and pain that comes with the Walk; but I had yet to experience the results of joy, restoration and peace.

The world had had its way with me, and I had no trust left for any human. Only for my Father in Heaven.

I prayed to him to guide me somewhere that I could rest and heal, somewhere that I would not be used, abused and mistreated. Somewhere that existed, a group of people who loved Him just as much as I did. I told my Father that I only wanted to be where he was acknowledged, respected and celebrated. No longer could I surround myself with those who refused to accept and honor our Creator. It has taken many months, and much submission to get to the place where I sit today.

No longer startled, mistrusting or overstimulated; I am a healed woman.

God has used Bethesda House, and each woman here; to restore me and bring me back to a place of Love for others. Not only that, but a love for myself. Bethesda House has shown me that I am worthy of right relationships, and that is absolutely mandatory that I live amongst other believers. I learned to hold myself accountable and to expect the same from others. I learned that relationships involve both giving and taking.

There are truly no words to express the gratitude and appreciation that I feel towards Bethesda House and every person I have met through this program. I only pray that I am able to do for others, what God had used each person here to do for me. I hope that one day I can be like the women I see sitting before me, a beacon of hope; made from hard work and Faith. The greatest healing that has ever occurred in my life, has taken place under this roof. I love you all so much, and know that you all are my family. Thank you so much."
