Greetings! Final summer greetings from BethBC! As our academic year kicks off, we have some exciting news to share with you! The newest member of our staff, Jihan Twemeh Nazzal, is serving as our new Administrative Director. She is featured in this month's Meet One of Us, so learn more about Jihan and the wonderful addition she is to BethBC.  In the vein of new additions, the high school graduation exam in Palestine, Tawjihi, has added Christian Religion to its subject content, which we are excited to hear. Also, this year is the first Christ at the Checkpoint Conference in the United States! Both of these along with our students traveling to Italy are all worthwhile reads. The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education has decided to include the Christian education curriculum for 12th grade in the general secondary school exam “Tawjihi” starting this year. World Communion Sunday is celebrated each year on the first Sunday in October. Many of us have heard about it but may not know much about where the celebration originated. According to the website of the National Council of Churches, World Communion Sunday began in 1936 in the Presbyterian Church and was adopted by the Federal Council of Churches (predecessor of the NCC) in 1940.
