Conarroe Crochet Scarf Class

Hello, crocheters! Summer is winding down, the evenings are getting cooler, and we’ve got a class for you!

Among other tips and techniques, we’ll cover:
  • seaming techniques
  • how to modify the size
  • help you build confidence in reading patterns.
We’ll show you our preferred method for working into your foundation chain, but you’ll need to already know the basic skills of single and double crochet.
This is an on-line class using Zoom technology so you don't have to be anywhere near Cambria to join us!
We're using the Conarroe pattern for the class as it's not only beautiful, it gives us the opportunity to talk about a variety of techniques. The piece uses two skeins of Alegria from Manos Del Uruguay, one of the softest, most luxurious sock yarns we've ever come across.
The original pattern has instructions for seaming the ends that give the piece some unique styling options, and we’ve got a couple more ideas for possible variations, including how you can make two short bandana cowls instead of one long scarf.

The class comes with 2 skeins of Manos Alegria in your choice of color as well as the pattern!
Unfamiliar with Alegria? Want to ask about the class? Just ask!
Not Traveling?
Don't forget, you can still:
Auntie Woolie Says...

We understand it can be difficult to choose a yarn or a project with so many options out there. Many of us are still not traveling so visiting your favorite yarn store (we hope that's us!) may be difficult or impossible. Shopping on-line for anything, even yarn, can be an exercise in frustration due to the overwhelming options.

One of the benefits with working with a local yarn store, or LYS, is we offer a curated collection of products that we feel offer the best value and quality. No one store can carry everything, so we research, evaluate, and test products to narrow it down to the products we offer. We're grateful for everyone that has supported us over the years and we hope to continue bringing you the best the world has to offer.

Join us on our Thursday evening Zoom calls for community, help, and ideas!

If you're planning on visiting, please know our schedule can change based on guidelines and resources, so keep up with the latest schedule on our website at

Until next time, please stay well and...

Happy Stitching!
Trendsetter Placid
We all love Cashmere, but sometimes it's more expensive than we might want. The great news is Trendsetter has Placid! Placid is an incredibly lightweight, bulky, cashmere blend that you're sure to love. With an amazing 120 yards on a 50 gram ball, it's a great value.

The poncho pictured above is knit with 7 or 8 balls of Placid.
Placid Elegant Embroidery Hat
We love this hat we found on Ravelry, knit by 'susansknitworld' from just one skein of Placid!

The pattern is FREE on Ravelry!
