Partnership with MafTeach
We are excited to share that RMBA has partnered with Yeshiva University's MafTeach Chinuch Incubator program. MafTeach matches budding educators with schools throughout the country to provide real life training and experience to the future Jewish educators. We welcome our inaugural class of fellows - Sage Friedman, Al Benoliel, Maya Goldberg and Rivka Bennun - who are joining us for their first weekend Friday, November 3rd - 5th. Our fellows will visit with us 4 times during the year as they run various programs, observe classes, meet with teachers and step into the role of student teachers for our Lower and Upper School. Additionally, our fellows will visit the various communities in Houston as part of their visit. We are excited to be marking this year's Rabbi Sacks Day of Learning this coming Friday along with our fellows.

Fall Festivities
Welcoming Fall weather and the special mitzvah of Hachnasat Orchim which means inviting guests into our homes, were part of Morah Avivaās EC4A classās awesome learning experiences this week. The class helped create a vibrant Fall tree for the outside bulletin board using the āFoil Art'' technique. After learning the very special mitzvah of Hachnasat Orchim in this weekās Parshat Vayera, Morah Aviva led a class discussion with the question: āHow would you make your guests feel comfortable on a playdate in your home?ā Everyone had something interesting to add to the conversation, and took turns listening to each otherās responses. The class decorated lovely Bruchim HaBaim (welcome) signs for their homes using special graffiti markers for tracing words, and gluing colorful jewels as a background. The class also worked diligently on an Ohel Avraham project. Children colored, and designed their Ohel (tent) with tissue paper squares, and then practiced writing the Hebrew letters for the words: Ohel Avraham. The class also had a blast creating their own Fall tree collage with only one shape - triangles!

Hospitality
This week in Morah Sandy's EC3A class, students explored the teachings of Parshat Vayera, discovering how Avraham waited in his doorway to welcome guests. They learned about Avraham's tent, which had four doors, enabling him to greet guests from any direction. To reinforce this concept, the students created a craft depicting their own homes, featuring a photograph of each student in the doorway, symbolizing the act of welcoming guests. Additionally, the class practiced counting to four and discussed the joy of having guests in their homes during Shabbat.
