City Council Meeting - October 16, 2023


The Beloit City Council will hold their regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. on October 16th. The meeting will be held in the first floor Forum at Beloit City Hall, 100 State Street.


The meeting will be live-streamed on Charter channel 992 and on Beloit Access Television (BATV) YouTube channel.

Public Hearing on Proposed 2024 City Budget


The City Council participated in a budget workshop earlier this week. A public hearing on the 2024 Operating, Library, and Capital Improvements Proposed Budgets is on the Council Agenda for the meeting on Monday, October 16th in the City Hall Forum. The public is welcome to attend.

Rock County Impaired Driving Enforcement Task Force


Law enforcement officers from nine Rock County agencies will be looking to prevent impaired driving this month. Rock County Impaired Driving Enforcement Task Force will deploy on the following days:


  • October 14, 20 and 28


There will be zero tolerance for driving under the influence, open intoxicants, seatbelt violations and improper use of child safety restraints.

Pumpkin Walk - October 17


Take the family out for a "family friendly" Halloween stroll through Eagles Ridge Park, 3731 Golden Eagle Drive.


The Parks and Recreation Division will host a Pumpkin Walk event on Tuesday, October 17, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. The event will feature LED-lit jack-o-lanterns and other lanterns throughout the approximately 1/3-mile path. Glow sticks, flash lights and Halloween costumes are welcomed.


The event is open to all, but parking is limited to on-street parking only. Please be courteous to the surrounding neighborhood.

Goblins and ghosts are among us! The City of Beloit is proud to present a wide variety of quality Halloween and fall-related events for the community's families and youth.

FABL Warehouse Book Sale


Friends at Beloit Library (FABL) will host its huge used book sale October 19-21 in the Community Room at Beloit Public Library.


Sale Hours:

  • Thursday, October 19, 2 - 6 p.m.
  • Friday, October 20, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 21, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.


Hardcover books will be $0.50 each. Paperback, media and all children's books will be $0.25 each. Saturday is "Bag Day," with each paper sack of books priced at only $1.00. Bags will be provided.


FABL accepts donations of books, movies, and media year-round. Items that are clean and in good condition can be donated at the front desk of the library; ask any staff for assistance.

Indoor Pickleball


The indoor pickleball season is looming...register now to participate!


The cost is for the entire season, November 2 - March 28, not "per night." If you choose to play once per week, it's $35 for the entire season. If you choose to play two nights per week, it's $55 for the entire season.


Three nets will be set up, with varying levels of play, from beginner to advanced. Call 608-364-2890 to register.

2024 Community Development Block Grant Feedback Requested


Review and provide public comment on the proposed 2024 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan and proposed 2024 CDBG budget through October 30, 2023.


The Annual Plan and CDBG budget is available on the City's website here.


Members of the public may view the documents in the lobby on the 1st floor of City Hall, 100 State Street, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at the Beloit Public Library during normal business hours.


On October 16, 2023 a Public Hearing will be held during the City Council meeting to give the public an opportunity to provide feedback. The meeting will take place at Beloit City Hall, 100 State St., Beloit, beginning at 7:00 p.m.


On November 6, 2023, Beloit City Council shall consider all public input received and will vote on the proposed 2024 CDBG Budget and Annual Plan. The meeting is open to the public, and will take place at Beloit City Hall, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
