Thank you for the continued patience as we navigate our pool closure. All four pools are in the process of being drained and mechanical work has been scheduled with outside contractor, Weston & Sampson, for a main drain issue. We hope to have the pools back up and running soon and do not anticipate a disruption to the start of summer programs. Bi-weekly updates are being sent from our Recreation Director, Anna Mckeown.

During an unexpected facility or pool closure such as the one we are experiencing currently, we do our best to contact and provide updates to members and program participants via email. Members can also receive text message notifications. If you are not receiving text message notifications, log into your MyRec account and under notifications opt-in to mobile notifications or contact the front desk at 978-287-1000.

Concord Recreation Department is proud to highlight Employee of the Month for May!

Employee Name: Jim Lyon

Location: Beede Swim + Fitness Center and White Pond

Position Title: Lifeguard

Time with Concord: 1+ year

Please join me in congratulating Jim Lyon for being May’s employee of the month. Jim has been a part of the Concord Recreation team for just over a year and a half and during that time, he has shown a tremendous level of dedication to his job as a lifeguard and to Beede. He is a proactive employee who does not wait to be asked before providing help. When he notices something needs to be done, he is eager to step in and get it completed. Jim is not afraid of hard work and can be found doing the responsibilities around the pool deck that most people shy away from. He can be relied on to pick up shifts when needed and will be joining us at White Pond Beach this summer as a waterfront lifeguard. His quiet and confident demeanor is appreciated by all those who work with him, and he is praised by the pool users daily for how diligent and hard-working he is. Congratulations! We are grateful for you, Jim!
