Summer is here and so is the heat! Don't sweat it though, because McWane's got a ton of COOL things in store for everybody! McWane turns 26! Join us for our special day as we celebrate in true birthday fashion with cake provided by our friends at Publix! While you’re here, get your chance to meet our special guest, Plato the Publixaurus!

Educator Family Days Every Weekend in July!



Every Saturday in July McWane will celebrate educators with our “Educator Family Days.” Teachers with a valid school ID receive free admission throughout the year. Additionally, they can bring their families to McWane Science Center and take advantage of a buy one, get one free ticket offer during this promotion. The Education team will also have special programming and demonstrations for educators who wish to learn more about McWane field trips. Those sessions will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Help spread the word to educators in our area of this one-of-a-kind opportunity!

July in the IMAX Dome Theater

In McWane’s IMAX Dome Theater with laser technology, visitors are not just movie spectators, they are a part of the cinematic adventure happening on screen. This July McWane Science Center has movies for the whole family—educational documentaries and feature length films.

Star Spangled Science

Join the Education staff at McWane for a one of kind July 4^th experience! This day of interactive STEM features red, white, and YOU! From fiery reactions to colorful concoctions, join us for an explosive display of science and wonder!

Programming Spotlight: Weather Weekend @McWane

Hold onto your hats because this weekend’s forecast is sunny, rainy, windy, and cloudy! These are all the things that can happen during Weather Weekend! Come experience a wide range of weather-related programming as guests will be invited to engineer disaster solutions, test effective sun safety, and experience a special “electrifying” presentation during our “Shocking Science” event in Rushton Theater.
