Carpool Reminders
Thank you so much for your patience this week with carpool. Please make sure to keep your carpool numbers handy. We will use the number system for inclement weather dismissal. Inclement weather dismissal will be announced through Parent Alert when necessary.
For regular carpool, students will be released at the dismissal times listed below.
Families with 5-8 grade students, please DO NOT arrive before 3:20PM! Arriving earlier backs up the line for younger students. 5-8 students are in class until 3:25PM.
Dismissal Times:
Pre-K - 2:50PM
K-4 - 3:10PM
5-8 - 3:25PM
K-8th Walker Form*
If you plan to have your child walk across the street to Walnut Hill Park, please complete the Walker Form on the "Parents" tab under carpool. If you plan to have your child walk on Monday, August 19th, your form must be completed no later than 11:59PM on Sunday, August 18th.
  • Please let homeroom teachers know if there are days your children will not be walking.
  • Please let your children know if a sibling will not be walking with them due to after-school activities.
  • A Walker Form must be completed even if they are just going home with a friend who is a walker.
  • K-4 walkers without older siblings will be dismissed with K-4 carpool
  • 5-8 & those waiting for older siblings will be dismissed with carpool for 5-8

*Bike Rider Forms will be available in late August.

Weekly Mass begins next week. Students are required to wear their dress uniform on Mass days.
Back To School Nights
Make sure to mark your calendars! All Back to School Nights start at 6:30PM. Pre-K will meet briefly in the family center and K-8 will meet briefly in the cafeteria before going to classrooms on your specific night!!

Students are required to wear
their uniforms. Dress uniforms are not required unless your picture day falls on your Mass day.
24-25 Parent/Student Handbook
Please review our updated handbook for the 24-25 school year. All parents are required to complete the signature pages at the end of the handbook and will receive a copy of the signature pages at Back to School Nights.

SMS Cheerleaders will be supplying the
Bearcat spirit!

We are excited to see everyone! The Knights of Columbus will be grilling burgers and hot dogs outside this year with all the proceeds going back to SMS!

Best Book Club Ever
Students will have a great time reading books they like while boosting lifelong skills.  Build interest and confidence in reading while exploring genres, exchanging ideas, and enjoying exciting activities!
Chess Club (K-8)
We are excited to begin registration for this year’s chess program for Fall 2024. The Knight School will be leading St. Monica’s chess team this year. Our SMS students will be learning the royal game and enjoying themselves!
Drama Kids (K-5)
We are excited to have Drama Kids International return for the 2024-2025 school year. Drama Kids International will be offering programs for K-5th grades. Students will develop important confidence-building skills that will help them personally and academically.

Bearcat Bots
The robotics club aims to instill STEM education through hands-on Robotics experience. The study of Robotics will incorporate three pillars of STEM - Think (think of ideas on how to design a robot efficiently), Do (build a robot & operate), and Test 
(test solutions and compete).

Express Cheer
Is an official Jr. DCC training facility for the DFW area! This program for youth ages 5-12, allows them to join the world-class Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders organization and share in the DCC experience. Each team will also get to perform at events alongside the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders!
