Summary of Parent Ed Event "Internet Safety" held on Dec 4th
|
|
Sheri Gazitt of Teenwise presented the importance of Parent involvement in keeping kids digitally safe.
Setting household rules, having conversations, establishing trust, open monitoring, setting limits and consequences are some easy steps that parents can take to enable students to be wise internet users. Students should be taught the importance of maintaining privacy settings, implications of sharing information on the web, prudent usage of social media networks and also internet etiquette.
Parents can email Sheri Gazitt for information about useful resources on this topic.
Also, Teenwise will be hosting a FREE Social Media Live Call on
Dec 10th at 8 pm

Have you noticed the designated parking spot for Volunteer of the Month?
The PTSA and RMS staff have partnered together to allocate this
prime parking spot
to the deserving souls who have dedicated their time, energy and leadership to the students of our school. Please keep this parking spot open and available at all times.
Our valued volunteers are always coming/going and bringing with them heavy loads…. treats for student recognition, coffee/snacks for Coffee with the Principal or handouts/materials. Having this prime parking spot truly is useful and an added bonus of pledging their time for the betterment of our kids. They also deserve to have the designated parking spot when they visit the school for concerts,
enrichment or sports.
The following individuals have demonstrated the Grizzly Way by leading by example, willing to help and
able to multi-task/delegate/plan/organize/educate with a smile and ask for more.
September’s Volunteer of the Month – Laura D’Urso
October’s Volunteer of the Month – Ommama Hassan
November’s Volunteer of the Month – Tracey Gauthier
Please join me us in thanking these individuals for their commitment to serve our community.
If you have not yet volunteered or are looking for an opportunity to shine, please contact Stacy Hatch

'The Snuggery'- RMS Initiative for students in need
|
|
Redmond Middle School has created a food pantry/clothing closet for students in need of these extra resources during the school day or at home during the week. They have dubbed this room “The Snuggery”.
The Snuggery opened in November. We are stocking it with non-perishable food items and gently used (or new) clothing. Please be generous this holiday season and continue to donate.
Huge thanks to those who have donated.
Redmond Middle School has asked the school community to contribute to this initiative by donating items below so that they're available all throughout the year.

If your child experiences any of the following symptoms, please keep him/her at home or make appropriate child care arrangements: fever, vomiting, lice/scabies, diarrhea, chronic cough and/or runny nose, sore throat, rash, ear infection (with fever), or eye infection. If he/she experiences any of these symptoms at school, the school nurse or office staff may ask you to pick your student up as soon as possible.
