Save the Date - Griz Biz 2019
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 20, 2019, this will be the date of Griz Biz where families can pick up and complete paperwork, sign up for sports, open lunch accounts, tour the school, etc.
Study Lab
Now that we are a week into the new semester, it’s a good time to remind students about after school study support. We do have an activity bus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for our students who stay late after school to get help with their homework.

Join the New Green Team at RMS!
Redmond Middle Families! Are you passionate about recycling? Do you want reduce waste at school? RMS PTSA, partnered with the school is happy to announce the formation of the RMS Green Team! The Green Team will be comprised of interested students, parents and staff. We invite you to join our team to educate the community, promote sustainability and combat waste!
Proposed Green Team Initiatives:
  • Auditing and Improving Recycling/Composting at Lunch Periods
  • Best Practices Recommendations at School/PTSA Events
  • Earth Day/Week Celebrations and Education
  • and more!
What can you do?
  • Join the team! Yes, we need parents!
  • Encourage your student(s) to join the team. All grades are welcome!
  • Send us your ideas about how we can make the school more green!

Science Club News
On Feb 2nd , three RMS teams participated at the BPA regional Science Bowl. All teams demonstrated great performance at the event. RMS 1 (RMS Mindbenders) secured 3rd place at the Competition and RMS 2 made it to top 16 teams of the 64 participating teams. For details please click below.
Award Committee Volunteer Needed
Each year our PTSA presents awards to volunteers and staff members. One more person is needed for this year's committee. Sign up to participate . Most "work" can be done outside of the school day and at the committees convenience. Help determine who should receive the Outstanding Educator, Golden Acorn, and Golden Grizzly awards for 2018-2019.

Interested in Membership for Next Year?
RMS PTSA is looking for adults who are interested in working with this year’s Membership Chair on the spring campaign and who will have a student at RMS next year. The goal is to identify a candidate for next year’s membership chair who able to be appointed by the incoming board in July. Typically the membership chair duties are greatest in August – November. 'The Snuggery'- RMS Initiative for students in need
Redmond Middle School has created a food pantry/clothing closet for students in need of these extra resources during the school day or at home during the week. They have dubbed this room “The Snuggery”. It is updated on January 20th to reflect the current Individual Food Needs! Read More..

PTA Men’s Essay Contest
Students needed to participate in the PTA Men’s Essay Contest. In an effort to help promote male engagement around the state of Washington, the objective of this contest is for students of all ages to write an essay about a male role model that has had a profound impact on their life. LWPTSA Special Needs Group presents Community Resource Fair
Families are invited to attend a community resource fair regarding after school, summer, and other recreational activities and services for students receiving IEP, 504 and HIP assistance on Tuesday, February 26th from 7 - 8:30 pm. Click here to view the flier .
