Volunteers Needed to Help Distribute Academic Awards
Academic Boosters at Cal High is seeking volunteers to distribute the 2023-2024 academic awards to ~1500 students. Please check your calendars to see if we can count on you for help during student lunch periods on Wednesday, April 24th and/or Thursday, April 25th, and/or Friday, April 26th.

50th Anniversary Edition of the Cal High Yearbook (2024)
1) Purchasing a yearbook: Please check this list (link here) to see if you have purchased a yearbook (press to find your name). Ms. Brindley is still selling yearbooks for cash or check only (payable to Cal High Yearbook) dropped off at the black lockbox in the front office (make sure student name and grade is on the check/envelope) or in WL-1 until all the ordered yearbooks have been sold. The past two years we have sold out the yearbooks, so please DO NOT WAIT to purchase a yearbook.
2) Deadlines: The yearbook class has completed the yearbook and it is now in the process of being printed and bound. It will be shipped to the school at the end of May and distributed to students at school. Please understand that it is too late to make any additions or changes to the yearbook.

Grad Night tickets are still available for purchase in Future Fund
Tickets are available to purchase via Future Fund. Price of the ticket includes food, games, and entertainment, multiple chances to win raffle prizes at the end of the night, and a keepsake memento.
If you are interested in helping with event pre-planning or decorating, please contact the Grad Night Chair @ calhighgradnight@gmail.com, or attend our next planning meeting on Monday, April 8 @ 7pm in the library.
Graduation Leis
Looking for a little something extra for your graduate? Consider purchasing a ribbon lei and help support Grad Night in the process. We are selling single ribbon leis for $15 and double ribbon leis for $25, with proceeds going to help offset the cost of Grad Night. Leis are available to purchase on Future Fund: Graduation Leis

Cal High PTSA Senior Scholarships
Each year, Cal High PTSA awards scholarships to graduating seniors who are PTSA members.
The Senior Scholarship Application is OPEN
The scholarship is open to all Cal High graduating seniors, who are PTSA members:
- With a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or above; and
- Who plan to continue their education at a two or four-year college, business school or vocational trade school, or military, and
-
Who are current PTSA members. If you are not a PTSA member, please purchase your Student PTSA membership ASAP. This can be done at Cal High’s Future Fund Store. The Student membership fee is $10.00.
Application period closes on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 11:59pm

Recognize the Grizzly having gone above and beyond this year!
Do you know a parent volunteer, teacher, staff member or other organization that contributes exceptionally to the well-being of our students? Nominate them for the 2024 Cal High PTSA HSA Award. Deadline to submit is Today, April 8th!
Recipients of an award will be recognized at a special ceremony in May during the Principal’s Coffee.
Awards/Criteria
- Very Special Person (VSP) award is for an individual/PTA constituent that has contributed to the school community in a special way.
- Honorary Service Awards (HSA) is a special recognition to an individual for outstanding service to our youth.
- Continuing Service Award (CSA) is special recognition to an individual for exceptional service to our youth over a continued period of time.
- Golden Oak Service Award is California’s state PTA’s most prestigious award to an individual for significant contributions to the welfare of youth in the school or community.
- Outstanding Teacher Award
- Outstanding Administrator Award is special recognition to an administrator service in welfare of youth in the PTA school, or community.

Non District Courses
Hello parents,
If your student is planning on enrolling for a Non District Course during summer please read all the information at this link Summer Advancement Via Outside Institution
Follow the below steps.
1. Non District Course Intent Application (For summer coursework for 2024-25 school year) - Advancement application closes and Proof of Enrollments are due by June 27, 2024 @ 11:59 pm
2. Complete Step 2 (Application to Place Credit) on my webpage
- Please submit this Application to Place Credit form after you have completed the course.
Upload the completed form, signed by both the student and parent(s). Section 4, Question 3 of the Google form is where you need to upload the signed form.
(NOTE- Paper Copies of "Application to Place Credit" will not be accepted.)
3. Submission of your Official NDC Transcript from the institution to the Registrar's office by the deadline. The deadline to submit the summer transcript is Friday, August 16, 2024 (Transcripts emailed from a student/parent are not considered official and will not be accepted.)
No late submissions will be allowed.
This Timeline applies for courses taken at all institutions.
· June 27 @ 11:59 pm - Advancement application closes and Proof of Enrollments are due
· August 16 - Official transcripts are due. Alternatively, if the institution offers an email option to send it directly to vbattu2@srvusd.net this is acceptable and will be considered an official copy. (Transcripts emailed from a student/parent are not considered official.)

The SRVUSD SELPA Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Bright Lights Awards are designed to honor people who have made a positive impact on the lives of students in special education. We encourage you to nominate someone (in any of the nine categories) deserving of this award who goes 'above and beyond' to engage, educate, and empower students receiving special education services. The winners of each category will be honored before the School Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Please submit nominations by Thursday, April 11, 2024. Interdisciplinary Generative AI Summer Program by Stanford Alumni
Inspirit AI is a 25-hour project-based AI program taught by Stanford graduates that introduces middle and high school students to fundamental AI concepts to build interdisciplinary AI projects across disciplines. In 2024, the team is excited to announce new projects such as Generating Language Safely with ChatGPT. No CS experience is necessary to apply and priority applications are due soon.
