Our 2023 Dancing with the Martin Stars dancers are revving up their fundraising efforts, as we are just over a month away from the big event! Below, you can find multiple giveback events and their dates. We hope to see you out there and appreciate your support!

We are looking forward to this month's Community Conversation. Join us on August 29 to learn about the current state of OB services in Martin County. This event will feature Dr. Jeff Chapa and Healthy Start's very own, Sam Suffich!

Community Conversations: OB Services In Martin County

Jennie Joseph, Licensed Midwife & Maternal Care Trailblazer Comes to Martin County
We are beyond thrilled to welcome Jennie Joseph, Midwife and CEO of Commonsense Childbirth, to Martin County. Please join us for our Maternal Health Conference on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Children's Services Council, 101 SE Central PKWY, Stuart, Florida, 34994.

The purpose of this conference is to work with partners and the community to improve maternal and infant outcomes with an emphasis on improving health equity for all pregnant women and women who have given birth.

Our Doulas Are On Fire!
July was a busy month for our G.R.O.W. doula team as they supported TEN pregnant clients through their labor and birth journey! Some highlights from this month included:

  • Doula Manager, Margo, received FIVE calls from hospital staff requesting doula services for clients who had limited or no support in labor.
  • Our newest G.R.O.W. doula, Michelle, supported her first MCHS client and the parents gave her the honor of cutting the baby's cord!
  • We had a tie for biggest baby of the month with TWO chunks weighing in a 9lbs 6oz! Both were born naturally!
  • The longest client labor of the month was FOUR DAYS long! That client went on to have a successful vaginal birth with the help of her doula and dedicated hospital staff!
