Seven Skin Sins of Summer
Sin #5: Dehydrating your skin!
What do excess sun exposure and excess water exposure have in common? Super dry skin. Whatever your skin type, we can almost guarantee you have dry skin in the summertime (unless you are below the equator, but I digress...)
It is one of the most common skin sins in San Diego. Even if you come in with perfect levels of hydration, we are probably going to faint right off the stool. Our big pinch hitter here is hyaluronic acid. Say it with me: hy-a-lure-on-ic acid. It's a moisture binder that can hold 1000x its weight in water.
We get asked a lot if you are "water dry" or "oil dry." The answer is in your pore size. If you have small pores, you are oil dry. However, everyone is water dry. Yes, you need to drink more water, I'm sure, but your skin hardly gets any of that hydration unless you are treating it from the outside in. So let's make a plan to absorb our next meal...and come in and ask us about hy-a-lure-on-ic acid. You can even pronounce it just like that if you want. ;-)
