Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
"A hero is someone who has given his or her life
to something bigger than oneself."
"Although no sculptured marble should rise to their memory,
nor engraved stone bear record of their deeds,
yet will their remembrance be as lasting as the land they honored."
We honor and remember all those who served in Military service, past and present, and those who gave of the ultimate sacrifice, their life, towards the end of Freedom for one and all. We thank all for their service and we remember them.

We had a lovely warm time in the Orchard View Park last Sunday for our Blessing of the Animals. We greeted several new families with their wonderful dogs! Cantor Carol created beautiful certificates for the occasion, and we welcome and encourage others to have their pets blessed when we are able to arrange this again.
We are most grateful and appreciate all of our members, friends, and guests! Please let us know if there is something you feel may be missing or that you wish to suggest for our programming or otherwise. We look to YOU for your comments and fresh ideas!
We will be holding our Annual Membership meeting during the month of August and at that time, we will elect new Board Members and Officers to lead us into the new fiscal year 2024-2025, which begins on September 1, 2024.
If you are able to step up and volunteer your time to ensure that L'Dor Va-Dor's Board represents its members and that L'Dor Va-Dor will continue to thrive, we would be more than grateful! Please call the congregation phone 561-968-0688 or email us to let us know that you are interested in serving on our L'Dor Va-Dor Board.
We will also be planning to hold High Holy Day services in October, so please mark your calendars to join with us in-person for Rosh Hashanah(October 2 and 3) and Yom Kippur (October 11 and 12).
Wishing you all a beautiful day, weekend, and week ahead!
We honor and remember all those who risked their lives for our Freedom
on this Memorial Day and Weekend.
May you be healthy, happy, loved, stress-free and filled with peace.
With Shalom,
Sharon Leibovitz
