Be a Witness, Even When It Is Uncomfortable
Take Some Time to Publicly Pray & Stand for Life
Three 40 Days for Life campaigns began in Louisiana last Wednesday in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans. As I prayed outside the New Orleans abortion facility, I reflected that our dedication to the pro-life cause often calls us to do uncomfortable things for a higher purpose. And that higher purpose can sometimes seem fruitful, and sometimes not.

For example, this past Friday a life was saved in Baton Rouge as a sidewalk counselor, supported by those in prayer, was able to encourage a woman to walk away and choose life. What a blessing of immediate impact! But we also know there are times, like for Amy , that people see the presence of the pro-lifer there as a sign to not go through with the abortion, even if there never was a conversation.

You see, our choice to be present at an abortion facility should never be based on our success or lack thereof. We must be there for the babies and the moms.

Take time this month to make your stand. Join a 40 Days for Life vigil , attend a Life Chain , or join us on Oct. 13 in New Orleans East in front of what may become the next place where unborn babies lose their lives.

If we don't stand, who will?

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper

P.S. The pro-life "Gosnell" movie is scheduled for release Friday, Oct. 12 in theaters. It is currently scheduled for theaters in Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and Covington , and possibly more. Please spread the word!
It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month; Read This Before Making a Donation for Research
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an important time to provide support to organizations seeking a cure. But please don’t let your money race off to Planned Parenthood! The Susan G. Komen Foundation sponsors Race for the Cure events each year, with the money raised going to fund grants to agencies providing screening tests and interventions crucial to women’s health, such as mammograms. But the group also provides funding for the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, which performs ZERO mammograms! Fortunately, there are breast cancer organizations that DO NOT give money to abortion.

5th Circuit Upholds Admitting Privileges Law
Rep. Katrina Jackson speaks at press conference and bill signing in 2014.
Last Wednesday was a big day for Louisiana in its efforts to protect women’s health as a three-judge panel of the U.S. 5 th Circuit Court of Appeals voted to uphold the 2014 Unsafe Abortion Protection Act (Act 620), which requires abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. The 2-1 ruling came four years after the law was overwhelming approved by the Louisiana Legislature and signed into law by then Gov. Bobby Jindal. The latest ruling overturns a 2017 decision by U.S. District Court John deGravelles, who struck down the law.
