Giving Tuesday is here! You may be wondering why you should take action on Giving Tuesday. In this newsletter, we’ll share how you can be a community hero by helping the All Care Health Center patients.

This time of year can be hard. And it is even harder for those who struggle to pay for everyday needs. All moms and dads want to put a roof over their children's heads and food on the table. Imagine having to decide between these basic needs because your children also need prescription medicine. Imagine giving up your own lifesaving medicine to pay these ongoing costs. 

Prescription costs, including co-pays, reduce the consumption of medicines in low-income patient populations. Vulnerable patients often struggle with difficult decisions when picking up prescription medicines. They may choose some medications and leave others; maybe their family will skip a few meals to save for medications; maybe parents will choose medicine for their kids and leave their prescriptions behind. Sometimes, patients may skip doses to make prescriptions last longer. These difficult choices lead to poor health outcomes for low-income patients who often suffer from comorbidities such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

All Care removes barriers for those with the greatest need every day. However, even All Care's low financial barriers cannot eliminate the significant impact on low-income patients' access to prescription medicines. All Care counts on donors like you to help completely remove prescription barriers; right now, these patient funds are low. With your donation, low-income, uninsured, and under-insured patients who cannot pay for the remaining prescription costs after all insurance benefits or sliding fee scale options may receive their prescriptions at no cost after a confidential consultation with All Care's clinical pharmacist. Your contribution directly benefits our patients and truly affects overall community health outcomes. Please consider being a hero to our most vulnerable patients.  

Donations to All Care’s Endow Fund Matched

All Care Health Center’s Endow Iowa Fund helps build resources that ensure All Care can create programs that increase access to high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive healthcare far into the future. Your donation to this fund creates a long-term impact. Now through December 1, 2023, donations to this fund are amplified with a generous 20% match from the Community Foundation of Western Iowa. The match is added to all gifts, up to $100,000.00 per fund, or until the Community Foundation’s pool of $250,000 in match funds is exhausted.

Diapers and Men’s White Socks Needed!

All Care’s Amazon Wish list allows donors to give diapers to families receiving well-child exams at All Care. Diapers and a new or used outfit from All Care’s Kids’ Closet are fun additions to these necessary child exams. You directly bless our young families by helping us fill the closet with diapers.

All Care is also spreading joy to the homeless guests of New Visions Homeless Services, and you can join in this effort. Men’s white socks are a blessing when those experiencing the homeless crisis are given the gift of dry, warm feet this winter.  

Both diapers and men’s white socks can be purchased from All Care’s Amazon Wish List. Amazon will ship purchases directly to our health center.
