Cold and Flu Reminders
You can catch a cold at any time of year, but they are more common in late winter and early spring and usually last 1-2 weeks.
To reduce chances of getting the
cold or flu, remember to:
- Wash your hands often. Avoid touching your face and your eyes.
- Avoid sharing objects (cups, utensils, cigarettes, etc) with someone with a cold or flu.
- Reduce stress. It can lower your body's ability to fend off colds and flu.
- Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly.
- Cover your cough in your elbow, not your hands.

Tang Center Urgent Care - When the Unexpected Happens
Regardless of insurance, UC Berkeley students have a $35 co-pay for visits to Urgent Care. Have an injury? Too sick to wait for an appointment? Need immediate care on the weekend?
Our
Urgent Care
center is a drop-in clinic for sudden, serious and unexpected illnesses, injuries or conditions requiring medical attention, like fractures, joint dislocations, deep cuts and lacerations.
If you're ever feeling badly, go to Urgent Care right away. Don't wait until the end of the day! We also have weekend hours on Saturday 9:30am-5pm and Sunday 11am-3pm.
If you are not sure about your health concern, call the Advice Nurse (510) 643-7197.
