Filing is now open for delegates to attend the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago from August 19 to 22.


Florida's 16th Congressional District – which includes all of Manatee County and part of Hillsborough County will be represented at the convention by two men and three women formally elected by Democrats in the district.


People interested in serving as a congressional district delegate have until noon on March 25 to file.

The 16th Congressional District election will take place at

  • The New Lakewood Ranch Library, 16410 Rangeland Parkway, Lakewood Ranch, and at the Manatee County Democratic Party Office, 435 Cortez Road West, Bradenton.
  • Early Voting: Thursday, April 18, 3:00 to 7:00 pm
  • Election Day: Saturday, April 20, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
