A Word From Our President
The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce recently hosted our 139th Annual Meeting. We sold out with over 300 in attendance. I’d like to congratulate all our award members, and thank all of those in attendance. And a special Thank You to all our sponsors. We could not do this without you. I’m sorry I missed it do to a prescheduled vacation, (which you all heard about numerous times that evening).

I’d also like to thank Ryan Tarrant again for the work and dedication he provided over the last 5 years. We wish him all the best with his new career. He left us in a great position and will certainly be missed.

As I fill in as Interim President/CEO, things are going very smoothly, thanks to our great staff. We have a Search Committee that is working hard to find a suitable replacement soon, that will continue to move our Chamber forward.

We are looking forward to sharing with you next month more details on the Talent and Attraction Initiative, as the funds come in from the City and County.

Thank you all for your support and look forward to seeing all you at our upcoming events.

Throughout the program, students were working with their teams to complete a service project. They were asked to find a way to give back to the community. As young leaders it was up to them to come up with the ideas and to research the needs of the community. Each group was guided with mentors who assisted their team in reaching out to community leaders who could help answer questions for the vision.

Project 1 - Fill the CAN VAN. This was in support of the Can Council of the Great Lakes Bay Region, who provide support and resources to create communities where children are free from abuse and neglect. Students reached out to their home schools and arranged for home supplies to be collected, such as cleaning supplies, paper products and plastic ware to help provide to families in need.

Project 2 - Students collected gently used and new board games from their schools and surrounding community to donate to the Boys & Girls Club. They collected roughly 300 games.
