9th Circuit hears oral arguments on bathroom bill 

In October of 2023, the court of appeals temporarily blocked enforcement of the law, which created a statewide policy that school districts must ensure separate restrooms and changing facilities are available based on biological sex at every school.


Schools could be liable if they gave permission to anyone to use a restroom that does not match their biological sex. Schools would be required to offer an alternative facility for any student who did want to use a central facility.

Alex Adams to serve as new IDHW director

Adams has served as the administrator Division of Financial Management since Gov. Brad Little first took office in January 2019. He also briefly served as the interim director of the Idaho Charter School Commission from August 2023 to January 2024. Before that, he was the executive director of the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.

Fake calls issued against Winder campaign

Fraudulent campaign calls about immigration policy targeting Senate President Pro Tempore Chuck Winder were spread to constituents over the weekend, using what the Senate Majority Caucus called “deceptive and unethical tactics to mislead voters.”  


Winder said he doesn’t know if the messages targeting him qualify under a recently passed deepfake law because the content was not all AI-generated, but they were deceptive and misleading.
