Magnificent concertos by Béla Bartók and Francis Poulenc.
“These pieces were written to showcase musicians: the great orchestra, the virtuosity of the pianists,” says guest conductor Francisco Noya.
Virtuoso pianist twin sisters Michelle and Christina Naughton.
"Indeed, I am ready to put them on a level with some of the greatest piano duos of our time...They have to be heard to be believed" –The Washington Post
Two gorgeous Steinway pianos on the Cape Symphony stage.
“It is fascinating to have two pianos on stage,” says Noya. “Generally, the lids are removed, so the sound is unhampered. The sound of the orchestra vibrates the piano strings and reverberates… the pianos are absolutely “better together.”
Cape Symphony Orchestra musicians and guest conductor Francisco Noya.
Teaching conducting at Berklee, Francisco Noya tells his students “You are not conducting violins, oboes, and trumpets, you are conducting people. We bring our own life stories into it. It’s a human enterprise… for me, that’s very important. I never allow myself to forget it.”
Our Better Together concert on April 6 and 7, 2024 features all this, and more. Don’t miss it!
