Did you know that from the 51^st Balloon Fiesta, guests will be able to see the Annular Eclipse? On Saturday, October 14 at 9:13 a.m. the Annular Solar Eclipse will start becoming visible in the midst of the scheduled signature mass ascension. And, to make it even better? New Mexico is one of eight states to have a view of the “ring of fire,” a rare phenomenon where the moon does not fully cover the sun, leaving a thin outer ring visible. July in Ballooning

On July 6, 1984, Helene Dorigny set the duration world record for AX-13-type balloons. She flew for a total of 40 hours, 12 minutes and 5 seconds. This record is no longer standing.
