Massage as a Nurturing Ally for Your Nervous System

Delving into the realm of wellness practices, massage emerges as a potent supporter of nervous system health, offering a unique avenue to balance and regulate the autonomic nervous system.

Various techniques in remedial massage therapies, characterized by differing pressures, strokes, and durations, can either stimulate or soothe nerves, tailoring the session to achieve specific outcomes. In essence, massage induces a calming and relaxing effect on the entire body, contributing to the overall well-being of the nervous system.

Key benefits of massage therapy include:

- Enhancing communication through touch and pressure, awakening receptors and promoting healthy dermal activity.

- Relaxing muscles and restoring proper responses to stimuli by influencing neuromuscular reflex pathways.

- Triggering the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good hormones and painkillers, through its impact on neurotransmitters in the brain.

- Alleviating nerve root compression and releasing nerve blocks caused by muscle tension.

- Addressing and managing pain issues within the body.

- Calming the nervous system, potentially easing symptoms of anxiety and depression.

- Directly influencing tension in stimulated muscles or joints, altering the reactivity of nerve receptors in those specific areas.

She is also a certified Trigger Point Myotherapist and Reiki practitioner. Sara's dedication lies in holistic healthcare, emphasizing pain relief, adjunct exercises, relaxation, and overall well-being in her practice.

Starting May 1st, Sara will offer Trigger Point Myotherapy Sessions and Reiki on Monday and Wednesday mornings, each session lasting 75 minutes. Trigger Point Myotherapy focuses on individual points throughout the entire body to address the musculoskeletal system comprehensively, including the fascia which surrounds every muscle. Treating the entire body is crucial for achieving optimal symptom relief and breaking the cycle of pain effectively. Typically, it takes 1-3 sessions to significantly reduce or eliminate pain caused by myofascial trigger points. These trigger points are highly sensitive areas within tense bands of muscle tissue, often causing localized or referred pain and eliciting a twitch response.

Ambient Melodic Cello Concert

2024 Grammy® nominated* cellist Hans Christian

offers a deep listening concert at SoundspaceUSA

Hans Christian offers solo concerts where his unmistakable cello playing moves the listener with a haunting beauty. Using the cello in combination with live looping and various ethnic string instruments, he explores a universal musical language that transcends boundaries, cultures, and generations.

During a concert, Hans will create harmonic and ambient textures in ever changing colors and densities to create a listening experience that ranges from meditative to passionate. At times a soaring cello is supported by a fully orchestrated layer of strings while at other times painting a restrained meditative sonic space to take the listener into deep introspection.

The artist also incorporates esoteric instruments, such as the Indian sarangi or the Swedish nyckelharpa, to blend with the cello and he may also include sound bowls, cymbals, and flutes to create meditative and devotional listening experiences.
