Quincy Mitchell
Director of Academic Programs
|
Quincy Mitchell is a San Antonio native and is thrilled to return home to join the BASIS San Antonio Medical Center™, as the Director of Academic Programs.
Prior to BASIS, she served in many capacities at school districts across Texas to include her roles as a teacher, college counselor and campus administrator.
Quincy also brings three years of college admissions experience from Harvard University. She truly believes in what it means to be a lifelong learner and works endlessly to develop that mindset in her students. She has a strong conviction that with support and planning, all BASIS San Antonio Medical Center™ students will matriculate to their best-fit university of choice.

Quincy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and her Masters of Education from Harvard University. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, and most of all, her fiancé Gerald. Some of her favorite spare time activities are to attend church, exercise, shop, try new restaurants, and complete DIY projects. She is truly honored to be a part of the BASIS schools and looks forward to working with the BASIS San Antonio Medical Center™ community.

Charles Ross came to BASIS in 2013 as an English teacher after eight years of teaching in the Northside Independent School District. In 2014 he took on the role of Director of Student Affairs for BASIS San Antonio North Central™ , before transitioning into his current role as Director of Student Affairs at BASIS San Antonio Medical Center™.
Mr. Ross is a life-long lover of education and learning. Growing up with parents who both taught at the university level, he has lived in college towns his entire life, from College Station, Texas to Madison, Wisconsin. He currently resides in San Antonio with his three children.

Mr. Ross holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and after college became a certified teacher in the state of Texas. He loves working with the students at BASIS, & is a strong advocate for the high academic standards and personal responsibility that BASIS instills. In his spare time, Mr. Ross is usually pursuing his life-long love of music. He holds certifications in Sound and Audio Engineering. When he is not working with BASIS students, he can sometimes be spotted playing open mics around San Antonio. Other hobbies include watching classic movies at the Alamo Drafthouse, reading for pleasure, & strolling through the zoo with his kids.

America Palmer

America Palmer joins BASIS San Antonio Medical Center™ as the new Dean of Students. Mrs. Palmer attended The University of Texas at Austin and in three years received her Bachelor of Science in Communications Sciences and Disorders. Shortly after, she graduated with her Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
Mrs. Palmer worked with students with disabilities as a speech therapist assistant for a contracting company in various San Antonio school districts. The past three years, she was a Counselor as well as The Center for Academic Excellence Director at Antonian College Preparatory High School. As Director, Mrs. Palmer developed academic programs to promote student success. She developed a successful SAT preparation course, in which student's SAT test score improvement averaged 300 points.

Further, she organized and coordinated a peer tutoring program and developed a program that promotes college readiness. During her time at Antonian, Mrs. Palmer was grade level head, testing coordinator and college counselor. She also served as a member of the Student Discipline Committee, Strategic Academic Planning Committee and Archdiocese of San Antonio School Counselors Curriculum Development Committee.
Mrs. Palmer loves spending time with her husband, Daniel, her two year old son, Daniel Jr., her dog, Tex, cat, Snagglepuss and fish, Gumbo. She is a devoted mother, vegetarian and a wreath enthusiast. Mrs. Palmer is looking forward to being part of the remarkable BASIS San Antonio Medical Center™ community.
